There are often conversations about beaches, in particular sand or pebbles, etc. Many people think that in Albania you need to go straight to the south.
I think this is a misconception. There are no beaches in Durres itself, but very close, after Plepa, a wide beach begins, 16 km long. Shkembi, Mali and Robit, Cerret, wonderful places to relax. There are pine trees, good for allergy sufferers. Clean air and no road between the houses and the beach.
The beach itself gives such space that there is both where to go for a walk and where to eat, and all year round. Medical centers are every km.
There are no problems with transport, every 30 minutes there is a bus to the center, and if you want to go to Berat, then it is easy to do, you just need to go to the bus stop on the highway and get on the bus, they are happy to take passengers.
The coastal area is well maintained, garbage is collected every morning. There is also a modern sewage system, that is, there are no discharges into the sea, as for example in neighboring Montenegro, we do not have.
The water temperature by the beginning of July usually reaches 29 degrees, thanks to the shallow bay. And it is not shallow to swim, three steps and up to the neck, for example, in Shkembi, then walk a little and there is a shallow.
