Durres Resort Albania
DURRES.
Durres is the second largest city in Albania.
Distance from Tirana – 33 km.
Population – 180 thousand people.
The city was under the influence of Byzantium, Turkey, Italy, and at the very beginning of history, Rome (since then, an ancient Roman amphitheater has remained here). There is a large port in Durres.
The city’s embankment is bustling with life – attractions, cafes, shops.
And the hotels are located in a quieter area, away from the port.
Durres is known for its chic wide beaches and warm sea.
The beach area of Durres stretches for more than 20 kilometers, along which there are hotels of various levels and restaurants of Mediterranean cuisine, where you can taste delicious seafood prepared by real masters of their craft.
The beaches of Durres start south of the port — this part of the coast is called the Big Beach (Durres Plazh). In the summer it is fun and crowded. The entry into the sea is shallow and long, the water warms up well. There are many restaurants with national and Italian cuisine and a wonderful pastry shop Pelican. There are water activities.
Next is the Golem area. It stretches for 10 km. a string of hotels and apartments along the coast. Locals and tourists from other countries relax here. The hotels are built in pine trees, a wide coastal strip, a gentle entrance to the sea, good for relaxing with children.
Then comes Mali Robit. Mali Robit is buried in pine trees. The air is very clean and saturated with the smell of pine needles. This is a quiet and calm place, good infrastructure: cafes, restaurants, swimming pools, playgrounds. The dishes in the restaurants are at a high level with low prices.
A little further is the Qerret area. This area is of a higher class, there are several expensive complexes with a closed territory. Behind the complexes there are new buildings with their own infrastructure. Qerret ends with a fishing village, where you can buy freshly caught fish or try it in one of the restaurants. The beach in this part of the coast is sandy, of varying width.
An interesting place in Durres is the Lalezi Bay. It is located 32 km from the airport and the capital of Albania, Tirana, and 40 kilometers from the city and port of Durres. Its area is about 660 hectares. The beaches of the Lalezi Bay are beaches with soft white sand, beautiful nature, fresh air.
Also beautiful places in the Durres area are the beach Spile and the beach General.
On all the beaches they carry fresh fruits: figs, apples, pears, apricots, cherries. Everything is ecologically clean.
The mild and calm climate of the Adriatic coast is one of the best places to spend a serene holiday enjoying the quiet splash of the waves, breathing in the freshness of the sea air.
Shengjin Albania
Shengjin.
Distance from Tirana – 60 km
Population – 11 thousand people.
One of the most obvious evidence of Albania’s tourism potential.
20 years ago, Shengjin was a fishing village under Italian pines, and today it is already a developed resort – with hotels, restaurants, swimming pools, supermarkets…
Families with children appreciate the abundance of playgrounds, and the beach in Shengjin is one of the most well-equipped in Albania.
There are enough hotels, restaurants, bars, supermarkets. Recently, its own promenade appeared here, where you can walk along the sea, breathe in the clean air and visit restaurants and cafes. They serve amazing farm food. The pine trees growing here make the air special, magical.
The beach in the center of Shengjin is wide, sandy, long. The further south you go, the narrower it is. These places are famous for their high iodine content, which has a positive effect on the human body.
Velipoja resort
The resort of Velipoja is also a great place to relax, the closest to the border with Montenegro. In Durres and Shengjin there are many comfortable new buildings, many people buy apartments here to come on vacation as if they were home.
Ionian Sea Resorts.
The Ionian coast consists of many rocky coves stretching along a narrow coastal strip and steep mountains. It attracts its guests with its small isolated beaches and deep sea waters.
Ferries Corfu — Saranda
Saranda
Distance from Tirana (the capital of Albania) – 280 km
Population – 40 thousand people.
This resort is called the southern gates of Albania and the sunniest place on the Ionian coast.
It is quiet, calm and you can see Greece – the island of Corfu, which is less than an hour away by ferry. The advantage of this resort is the crystal clear waters of the Ionian Sea. Holidays in Saranda are inseparable from inexpensive and tasty restaurants offering pasta, pizza, seafood and grilled meat.
Most of the hotels are 3-4 stars. The beaches here are mostly pebbly and it is better to take older children here, but there are also sandy, bulk ones, you can go here with small children. It is worth paying attention to the local archaeological reserve – the ruins of the ancient city of Butrint.
Ksamil
Ksamil.
Distance from Tirana — 290 km.
Ksamil is one of the most famous beaches on the Albanian Riviera. This resort is the southernmost on the Albanian coast and is located 15 km from the city of Saranda, closer to the Greek island of Corfu. The village of Ksamil is a small resort area with a number of small hotels and guest houses. The town is surrounded on all sides by a national park and the world-famous archaeological site of Butrint. The road to Ksamil lies along mountain serpentines along the sea line. The town is one of the most visited places in Albania by foreign tourists and locals.
One of the main highlights of this place is the tiny islands with isolated bays scattered along the coast. It is worth renting a boat, a motorboat or a catamaran to swim around them and admire the colorful views. The beaches are small and very clean, reminiscent of Dominican ones, covered with finely crushed white shell rock similar to sand, equipped with umbrellas and sun loungers. The water is a stunning turquoise color. There are several piers on the beach, from which lovers can jump into the water with a running start. Several restaurants and bars will offer you the freshest, most delicious seafood and drinks at affordable prices.
Borsh.
Borsh.
One of the famous beaches is Borsh. This place is famous for its crystal clear sea water and amazing mountain landscape. Unlike the Adriatic coast, there are only pebble beaches here.
Vlora
Vlora.
Distance from Tirana – 150 km
Population – 130 thousand people.
In the central part of the coast, where two seas meet, is the resort town of Vlora.
It has a well-developed infrastructure: equipped beaches (sandy and pebble), spacious streets, many different hotels and restaurants, good offers for renting apartments.
The beaches of this region boast crystal clear water, which is ideal for swimming, snorkeling and diving. At the height of the season, the sea water temperature here is about 26 degrees, which makes all types of active recreation on the water delightful.
Dhermi
Dhermi.
Tirana is 244 km away.
Dhermi is a tourist village located among citrus and olive plantations, surrounded by high mountains covered with pine forests and stretches for 7 km, breaking up into small cozy pebble beaches. These lands are called the Albanian Riviera — people come here for a quality vacation. Vacation in Dhermi is considered elite (that’s why it costs a little more). The key attraction is the Pirates’ Cave (the entrance is at sea level) and Gramata Bay, on the rocks around which inscriptions in Greek have been preserved — greetings from ancient sailors.
There are brand new hotels, bungalows and restaurants.
Reviews from tourists. — The purest transparent emerald water against the backdrop of the most beautiful high mountains. And what sunsets! Especially if your balcony overlooks the sea)))
Himara
Himara.
Distance from Tirana – 225 km
Population – 4 thousand people.
The Himara region is the town itself and several villages, 20 km long and 5 km wide. On one side there are mountains and orchards, on the other – the sea. The long beach of small pebbles is divided by rocks into several parts: Spille Beach, Maracaj Beach, Strevija Beach and Potami Beach – these are cultivated beaches. There is a completely wild, untouched one – Filikuri Beach, hidden behind a cape, it can only be reached by boat.
Jale Beach is 10 km from Himara. The beach is also small-pebbled, but there are sandy areas. The infrastructure is well developed here: there are umbrellas and sun loungers, scooter and catamaran rentals, many cafes and restaurants offering a variety of fresh fish dishes. Divers dive in the right part of the beach, you can also take a motorboat ride to the Pirate Cave or fly over the beach on a paraglider. If you rent a boat, you can sail further from the shore. The water is so clear that, despite the depth, the bottom is clearly visible. The rocky coast attracts attention — on the horizon you can see the high mountains of the Keraunian Range, separating the Ionian coast from the Adriatic. Here and there there are small sandy beaches that are very cozy, but accessible only from the sea. There you can sunbathe all day in complete privacy.
There are many accommodation options in Himare, there are even two four-star hotels. The main cultural asset of this resort is the Old Town with its castle, churches and monasteries.
Palasa
Palasa.
There is a small village near Himara – Palasa. This is also a very beautiful place with amazingly beautiful nature. There are no resort areas and hotels nearby. There is a blue sea, stunning mountains and a lot of greenery around. The entrance to the sea is pebbly and sandy, steep in places, so this beach is not particularly convenient for children. For fishermen and diving enthusiasts – this is a really great place. There are no bars or restaurants in the Palasa beach area.
Orikum
Orikum.
In the center of the city is the famous Orikum beach with golden sand, 15 km long, which is part of the Riviera. It is loved by both tourists and locals. It has everything for a normal beach holiday. There are bars and cafes on the beach. Entrance to the beach is free, but you have to pay for sun loungers and umbrellas. Orikum beach is separated from the city by a line of olive groves. In the remote part of the beach you can have picnics or take romantic walks.
